MSU Getting Better

Hey gang,

I’m just sitting here thinking about how much I’ve seen Mississippi State improve over the past few years.

There’s just something different about the Bulldogs this year…oh yeah, that’s right…they’re actually playing like they know what they’re doing.

Anthony Dixon’s carrying the load on offense, and Wesley Carroll is playing like a champ, or at least like he should be to give his team a chance.  Proof of that came this past weekend when he hit Jamayel Smith to pull MSU within 3 points of Tennessee.  And even though the team lost the game, the defense made some nice stands at the end of the ball game, holding Tennessee to just three field goals.

And think about it, a 33-21 loss to the now number 20 team in the country…not that bad.

Keep the faith Maroon and White, the wins will start coming soon.

Weekend Wrap

Hey Gang,

What a weekend for college football in Mississippi.  Although Ole Miss and Mississippi State both lost, what an effort from both the squads against Alabama and Tennessee respectively.

The other local teams looked pretty good.

And I have to give a shout out to Dr. Johnny Thomas and the Alcorn Braves for picking up win number one of the year against Texas Southern.

Anyway, I must depart now, as Lance Moore just scored touchdown number 3 for the Saints against the Seahawks.  Different Black And Gold team than what I’ve seen all year.  Where did these guys come from all of the sudden?
