College Bowl Season
Ah yes gang, you’ve got to love the college football bowl season.
It’s always great this time of year with the holidays, the holiday food, and most importantly a football fiesta. However, I cannot say I am truly excited about any one bowl game on the national scene this year.
Of course, I was screaming at the top of my lungs for Southern Miss, Jackson State, and will be pulling for MSU against Central Florida. But the national championship game between LSU and Ohio State…give me a break! I’ve never seen two more undeserving teams playing for the title. However; it’s not like anyone was truly deserving to play in the national championship game given the insane year that was 2007 in the college football ranks.
I did a bowl pick sheet with my family back home in New Orleans, and I have to tell you, the unpredictability of teh regular season seems to be carrying over into the post season, as I have only been right on 1 of the first few games…yuck!

King Hotard Falls
What a horrible way for me to end the 2007 fantasy football season!
Anyone watching the late newscast last night knows that I met with an old friend turned fantasy football foe, in former News Channel 12 Weekend Meteorologist Jeff Rent, in a fantasy football championship showdown.
Jeff still serves as The Commisioner for WJTV’s fantasy football league. A little league we like to call the 2 Da Point Football League. Well, yours truly was the reigning 2DPFL champ, steamrolling everyone in my path last year.
This year was a bit different though, as “The Commish” managed to somehow topple King Hotard in the championship week of competition. At least the matchup was close, with Commish Rent’s Cardinal X team posting 128 points to my Pale Patrol posting 111.
Oh well, I guess someone has to finish second. Better than last…or at least that’s what I’m telling myself to help me sleep at night, knowing that I lost to a weather guy. Just depressing :o(
