Credit Union Heist - Lost Trust
I was so sad to hear about the two women who worked at a Rankin County Credit Union were the victims of such a rude crime this morning. Their sense of trust and security will no doubt be shattered forever.
They trusted these crooks, dressed as police. They thought they were doing the right thing when they told “by police” that there was an anthrax scare and the money had to be tested. Some might consider them foolish for turning over the cash, but I’d like to think they were just very trusting ladies. And for that they were threatened, frightened, tied-up and left to deal with the aftermath.
What a shame we live in a world where people are so boldly disrespectful. It’s bad enough these men stole the money, but they took something more important from these women. They took away their sense of security, sense of trust. I doubt that can be returned.
