What do you think DHS could do to prevent deadly child abuse?

A child is a very special gift. If the grandmother and aunt did not want this little boy they should have walk him into the hospital and walk away. They should be place on death row. A five year old child can not help themself and they should have love him more because he is a child.

CHILDREN ARE AROUND ADULTS ALL THE TIME,EVERYBODY HAS TO PLAY A PART TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THE CHILD. DHS WORKERS (SOME) JUST DO THEIR JOB AND NOT REALLY PUT THEIR HEARTS INTO IT, ITS JUST A JOB. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THE WELL BEING OF A CHILD, IT’S MORE. THESE ARE OUR BABIES AND GODS LITTLE ANGLES. JUST TREAT THEM LIKE WANT THEM TO BE TREATED. SPECIAL!

Back in the day when my grandmother worked for DHS, it wasn’t about the money. It was about the welfare of the family, especially the children. Nowadays, its only about the paycheck.

I think DHS should have close contact with the children’s school and have an advocate in place that will monitor the child in school; mentally, physically and emotionally to report any suspicious changes or activities. Also helps to make sure the children are staying in school.

DHS needs to help the kids that really need the help instead of going after those who do with out for their kids.

I feel DHS and Social Services agency are not doing enough to protect our children. This is a ongoing problem that really needs to be look into in all counties in Mississippi.

somebody really dropped the ball on this child. DHS or even other family members, someone had to have seen this child and noticed something was not right. and as far as returning the other children to their mother, why not? it appears they would be better off with her than where they have been, in protective custody? yea, right, they were really being protected.
