I believe that Don Imus WAS in fact out of line in calling those young women those names, and i think that the 2 week suspension was well deserved. But who’s to say that it wouldn’t be just as offending to a white woman? There ARE white women that are a part of that basketball team ya know. I’ve heard black people publicly call white people names that are far worse than that and they just simply laugh it off. And, by the way, if he’s done this so many times before, then what reason did he have to think that it WASN’T okay this particular time? Also, why does this subject and those like it always seem to make it into the head lines and big stories of today’s newscasts and newspapers? I mean, really, do we not have bigger problems to deal with in this state; not to mention this country? He did apologize… publicly. Whether it was sincere or not is up to the young ladies to decide. Either way, I definitely do not believe that this should’ve been made into such a controversial issue. |

I have to agree with the “lets move on to more important issues” group. Certainly, his comments were very offensive and unnecessary, however, they did not warrant so much public attention. Wasting air-time while there was way more serious news that should’ve been being relayed. What was more racist about the comments? “Nappy Headed” or “Hoes”? If “nappy” is used solely to describe the blace race—-it’s news to me! Move on, please, about the racist issue. Let’s address the truly more important moral issues that plague our country. I had never even heard of Don Imus until now anyway! He probably got more publicity in the last week than he has in his whole career. |

That goes to show the racism is still much alive today. If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Medgar Evers, Rosa Parks and the ones I truly missed was alive this would not be going on. God help us!!!!!!!!! |

IMUS said he was sorry and was going to apologize to the Basketball team. He should not have been fired. Give him a break. I have heard the colored race make lots of remarks and nothing was done. Wake up America. There is a freedom of speech. Just like the mayor of New Orleans, about the taky Racist remarks he make. I can not believe he was re-elected. But the majority in N O is black. I am not racist, but there are alot out there who just need to wake up and get a life for heaven’s sake. |

I think what he said was way out of line and the actions were justified. However with what he said do you hear the words to Rap songs they are just as deplorable and derogatory. The FCC should reprimand the Rappers as well as the music companies or for that matter the people who sell them.Furthermore where is the ACLU at now that the woman that(falsely) accused the LaCross members of rape. They need just as much representation as those women do.How about that Al Sharpton? Where are you?.. |

Breaking news, this just in from the Nations Capitol. The US Constitution has been officialy changed. The preamble now reads : We the BLACK people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and screw the WHITE MAN and everyone else because we are special and deserve special treatment, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. The first amendment has also been rewriten to say : Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press UNLESS BLACK PEOPLE FIND IT OFFENSIVE; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. It is a shame we live in a world of people afraid to express their opinions because of fear of reprisals. Sounds like democracy just officialy went out the window without a parachute. |
