I wish Trent Lott had left earlier.  He was a leftist Republican and marred the face of the Republican party.  More government means less freedom, and he was for more government.

It is good that Senator Lott has resigned his post…Hopefully, the state of Mississippi can move past the good ole boy system of operation that he has perpetuated since his tenure in office…

Just one question, Stephen. What culture gives one of its people the right to write such derogatory comments about a fellow human being? And your comments have offended ME, even though I’m not a white Christian MAN, I’m married to a SMART white Christian man and I’m a smart Christian woman! Works out real nice when people don’t offend me for being white AND Christian! Wow! REad your history books on the foundation of our country. Your comments concern me but actually make me feel sad for you.  You have a great name - Stephen -a powerful strong name drectly from the Bible! My prayers are with you.

As long as you’re crucifying Senator Lott, your sentence is grammatically totally incorrect!
“thang” = “thing”;
correct helper word should be “has” not “have”; “blackman” is NOT a compound word; AND plural form of the abbreviation of “years” is “yrs.” Easy to make mistakes, I know.  But maybe if the ONE mistake Trent Lott made in his service to our state was not ALL some people remember, it wouldn’t hurt so badly when WE make mistakes! Just an observation!

Yolanda, the abbreviation for Mississippi is NOT Miss.  It’s MS Just thought you might like to know.

Thank you, Senator Lott, for your service! You have worked hard for our state and made so many positive contributions to Mississippi AND to America!  I’m a recently retired Mississippi public school teacher; thank you for what you have done for the education of Mississippi’s children!  May God continue to bless you and your family!

Trent if he is prejudi ce then he should have been gone a long time ago, but remember it’s not always the white man who want’s to hold African American’s down but it’s also our people who do it as well. We need to come together all men and women and work together to make these year’s to come better for our children if we work together then their will be a change that would affect us all.
