Why is they trying to worry the Mayor to death about a crack house and people getting killed everyday all day and they can’t put the killers in jail,I think they should just leave the mayor alone and let him clean up Jackson like he was doing.

I’ll say this without being ‘politically correct’. At the time Medgar Evers was alive, I believe he was doing the right thing.  These days, however, it is ridiculous how much race still matters.  The fact that people are still distinguishing between races is ridiculous.  The fact that we just got our first “black” president is ridiculous.  Why can’t it be the 44th MAN to be president instead of throwing black in there.  The truth is that in this day and time there is no limit to what a person can do.  Who cares what color you are?  I have no problem recognizing a great man who did great things, but I do have a problem with things like black history month.  If accomplishments are good, they will be taught in history class without having to set aside a separate month.  Sorry, but discovering boiled peanuts is not worth studying in history class every year of grade school.  If anything having things like black history month and recognizing blacks as the first to do something suggests that blacks are inferior, and that it’s some major accomplishment, when really it’s just another accomplishment of a hard working man or woman…

Truly the worst of all of this, is that I have to be afraid to put my real name on here for saying what I feel because I’m afraid of being accused of being a racist.  The truth is, I hate the thought of racism.  I hate having separate races period.  Why do we have to split ourselves apart by declaring that we are white, or black, or whatever.

Unfortunately, when I see a question like “What does Medgar Evers mean to you?”, I think of this.

Tired, I just figured if he didn’t claim his 1/2 white heritage I wouldn’t claim if for him. He has chosen not to be considered 1/2 white. Instead he reminds us of his blackness. As far as I can tell he is just a little ashamed of his white heritage but terribly proud of his Muslim, lowlife African father.

TO Tired: from Kosciusko Obama is not black. He is a mixed 1/2 white and 1/black therefore he will be become America’s first half white half black president. But like you ask, Does skin color matter or not?
just thought i get u straight on the color that he is.

It is truly sad that we cant celebrate anything without it being racial.  If someone gives of themselves unselfishly, are they not to be blessed and honored.  I think there are lots of holidays that celebrate white people.  I think that because of the inequality of it all, we overcompensate to try and right a wrong which is just as bad.  BUT, if it were not for those injustices would we not have reasons for overcompensation.  If a soldier dies for us at home or abroad, celebrate him for he IS a true hero.  It doesnt matter what color he or she is, just that WE ARE ALL AMERICANS.  GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

If the color of one’s skin does not matter why does it matter so much that Obama is black? He will become America’s 44th President but all I hear is that he will be become America’s first black president. Does skin color matter or not?
