I totally agree with the comment it would not have mattered if JPD had been called becase they would not have come when Ms. Brown saw Nelson speeding past her on Riverside. The statment is true. JPD officers themselves are too busy running traffic lights and stop signs, speeding. On top of that they are on the clock wasting tax payers money riding through the neighboring cities of Florence, Brandon, Pearl, Richland, Ridgeland, Madison, and Clinton instead of patrolling these roller coaster streets of Jackson and protecting the law abiding citizens that travel to and from work from these youung and old wreckless drivers.

I did not know the Ulmers personally. My heart and prayers go out to the family.
May Chris rest in peace. To his family, please continue to lean and trust in God, he will see you through this difficlut time.  As for the Nelsons, the driver should be charged with reckless driving, endangerment, speeding, and VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER.

I was on Riverside, after picking my grandchild up from school.  We were headed home toward Lakeland drive, The SUV with the boys in it passed us as an unreasonable speed.  They then cut back to go up Riverside on the other side.  The van had trouble safely making the u turn I commented at the time to my grand daughter that they were either going to kill some one or get killed or both. I started to call the police but decided they would not get there.  It doesn’t matter how rough the street is if the speed is totally unreasonable and the thoughts of safety are no where to be found.  Its sad that they had so little regard for life.  I pray fpr their families.  I can’t imagine losing a child like that.

I agree with thos comments on the continuous repetition of weather events.
It’s very important to know of severe weather, and tornadoes., BUT it’s not necessare to constantly repeat the smae thing over and over and over and over!
A continuous crawl with the information and if a tornado WARNING, or significant CHANGE occurs, they could break in.

Many times important info is missed because people change channels to get away from the constant barrage of the same information.

The needless death of any one is very sad.
The youths who were driving at 79 miles per hour on a 35 mph city street, killed one of them and were endangering everyone who was driving on those streets or lived along that street.

The Interstate through the city doesn’t have a posted speed of 70mph, so why do these kids think it’s OK to behave like this???
They have no fear of the law enforcement. If they get “caught” they know they’ll get out with a weak reprimand. They should be charged with murder for the guy who died and wreckless endangerment, at minimum, for the others who were in the area.
