it has affected me in the short term minimally financially. I have learned a great deal about congress and our countries slide to socialism. I am very dissapointed in the greed displayed by the wealthy in the financial institutions, they should all be investigated for criminal action in the same way WorldCom and Enron were. I am encouraged from the comment postings by my fellow citizens, I see good folks here who are giving serious thought to where the crisis lies, the upcoming election, the problems our country is facing, the reasons behind the problems, and actually seeing through all the empty campaign talk. I have been very down on the potential outcome, but seeing here that there are fellow citizens who are not blindly following certainly raises my spirits. |

Why is everybody blaming the federal government for all of the financial problems?? Most of us have contributed to our financial demise by buying into this instant gratification society. People need to live within their means…that means saving money for harder times..the economy cannot grow exponentially! There will always be lows and highs. If anything this situation has taught my family the importance of becoming financially independent. Needs before wants…working towards ownership not increasing our debt! Credit was never meant to be abused as it is today and that is not just the Feds fault nor the lending institutions. It is called personal accountability, if you can’t pay for don’t buy it! People get a grip and take some ownership. |

This morning I got on the bus just like I do every morning, and the bus was full of all my new found bus buddies and they seemed to be a little up set, as I got comfortable in my seat I ask what’s the matter, was it politics again ? The reply was no, it’s cuts, what are they cutting now, this bus WHAT!!!! This bus??? It took me six months of serious job hunting to find this job and you mean I might have to quit it because the buses won’t be running (#12)the city council wants to cut the 11, 12,and the 13. How is it the little people are always the ones to get got!!!! If I had a car I would ride the bus , Why? The up keep on just a hooptie gas ,oil, tires etc. cost more than I make in a week, and in case you people (city council men and women) this country that’s (every body )is broke, you all need to park you gas guzzles and ride the bus for the low, low with all of us really economic challenged people, don’t you watch Oprah; Susie Orman says get a grip!!!! save ,conserve. The Bus service is a God send not just to me and my co-riders, to everybody. It’s within you budget, with less cars on the road it would cut down on traffic jams, pollution, and traffic accidents , and that means lower insurance rates and the bus is always clean and safe and in the six months that I have been riding it regularly, I have a perfect attendance record. So my suggestion is add more buses to the route, advertise the service you would be surprised to find, that the bus is the only way to roll, we have the best drivers, they’re always pleasant, helpful and they have the best networking system in town for free, from new job information to the best banks or credit unions to put you money in, real state information, and there are four of the best chiefs and restaurant employees on my bus, even the politics are great (we have our own debates on the bus). so to all the City officials remember even though we are just economically challenged working class stiffs our votes COUNT,and we bus rides can make or break you it’s more of us out here than you know. It’s a chain reaction if we’re ok you stay ok let’s keep Jatran and Jackson on the rise and start at the top leave your cars at home save that money, because the money you save on car expenses you can open you a savings account at Hope Credit as a rainy day fund we all need one or donate to your favorite church or Charity, you’ d be surprised how much you will learn and save riding the Jatran Bus. I and all the bus rides are casting our vote for Jatran and you need to get on the bus with us.!!!! and that’s the Bottom Line.“ Who You With !!!!!“ |

Because we live on a limited income we have had to make cuts on groceries, making a list to insure that trips to town are kept at a min. I see all these people writing that Republicans are the problem… well I hate to b the one to tell them, but Obama is not going to our saving grace! People he has a hidden agenda! Something does not sit right with him being elected! If he applied to our FBI or Secret Service, he would be denied based upon his association with William Ayers. If he is not good enough to protect our President, What makes him good enough to Be our President? I see thing written and have heard people say “He will help ‘our’ people”, or “He is one of our people” These people saying this come across racist, but as my daughter comments, “He is half White, too”. But people only seem to see his skin color and assume that he will help the colored people. People, U do know what AssUMe means, Right? I don’t know about the rest of the people out there but I want a leader for his/her skills not for their skin color. Grow up people, do some research on who is best to lead ALL of OUR people, not just Some of them! |

I am a single father of a teenage daughter, I keep hearing about tax cuts for the family. Well the only tax break that I see is for married couples, why should I be made to suffer because I am single. Every year I do my taxes I get back little to nothing because I am single but let me get married and that is when I get back money at the end of the year. I think that there are of alot of single parents out there that feel the same, and yes I do vote but which are the lesser of the 2 evils. No matter how much they talk I always hear the same old thing vote for me and I will help I have voted and voted and to tell you the truth I have about had it. Don’t get me wrong I love this country but I feel that we are going in the wrong direction and if it doesn’t change then we will end up in another depression. |
