Please go to the polls on August 28th

On August the 7th, voters across the state went to the polls and cast their ballots in several state and county races. This was the primary election for the republican and democratic parties. But under Mississippi law, a candidate must earn 50-percent plus one vote to win his or her party’s nomination. There are several races that remain undecided for each party. Please take time on August 28th to return to the polls and finish your job! Voter turnout for this runoff election will be must less than on August 7th. This means your vote will count even more! Polls open at 7am and close at 7pm! Please support the party of your choice! More importantly, please MAKE A CHOICE! Tell me what you think.

    Dear Rick,
I was watching the story this morning about the issues with 911. Last week, there was an accident in front of my house and we called 911. We told them that the car had flipped over several times. The driver was throwed out of the car. They told us to go see if someone was hurt and call them back. Anything could have happened in that amount of time. Luckily, the driver just had some cuts and bruises. It saddens me to know that this is happenening to other people also and that some are loosing their lives and their homes.

My only question is, who had the bright idea to break away from the Saint’s game during the 4th quarter with 11 min. to go. You advertised a Saint’s game, you should show the entire game.

    Thank you

Dear Rick, I’m writing to voice my problem with the political ads. I vote and I am probably not going to vote next week on the Nov. 6th election because of the political ads. None of the ads I have seen tell me anything except that the politicians that are running sound like a bunch of school children, all they have done is talk about their opponents, they have said nothing of what they want to accomplish. they need to remember that they are running for office for the people of Ms. and not for themselves. The money they spend on all the mud=slinging ads could be spent much wiser. If the candidates would simply print flyers with their views and what they want to accomplish instead of all the wasted money on the ads that only point out what the other person has done wrong they might have better turn out for votes. As of right now there is no politician running that I would vote for. On another note, who’s idea was it to quit letting us vote out of our party? I am not a Democrat or Republican or Independent or anything but a citizen of the United States and I should be able to vote for whomever I choose whatever party they belong to. I try to choose a candidate that sounds good not one that’s any certain party! Thank you for allowing me to comment.

    Dear Rick,
I feel like I have to say this. I grew up watching WJTV every since I was very young. And after today Wednesday, October 17th, 2007. I can honestly say under your leadership the station that I consider a part of my family, and every day life is at a all time low. First the so called reports that you cover are misinformed (example: the white t-shirt gangs), with no clue. The news broadcast showmanship is a joke. The anchors don’t know which way to look as far as what camera to look to I should say, and it’s not thier fault but whoever you placed as the producer or the one on the control boards behind the scenes. Then like one day I belive Mr. Brown was speaking but his sound wasn’t on and then not only that but the other lady the new one was on the main screen just looking lost as could be. Then the straw that broke the camel’s back your station interupted the climax of “Criminal Minds” when you or they showed the warning way earlier into the program. If that was the case for a weather emergency scheduled programing shouldn’t even started. WLBT will never compete with ya’ll, because they are cheap and it shows, but WAPT is superior to ya’ll because they are well-equiped just as your station. Step your game up and bring the station back to the level of professionalism and make your loyal viewers such as myself proud to say the WJTV is a part of my family.

Just to let you know I am not ashamed to let my identy known, My name is Elbert Owens and you can write me at 127 Headstart Ln. Pearl, Ms 39208, or call 601-559-0450 anytime.
