Christy from Vicksburg- there is a law called the Truth In Sentencing Act that compels sex offenders to spend 100% of their time. They are not paroled and often spend the rest of their life in prison. Life expectancy for sex offenders in prison is less than 7 1/2 years so conviction of a sex offense is often a death sentence.

5%- that is 1/20th of sex offenders might offend again??? There are two kinds of sex offender that need to be locked away forever: true pedophiles and sexual sadists with a compulsion to rape and murder. Who are the other sex criminals? A man who when he was 18 was in love with a 15 year old girl. Another is a man who was drinking at a football game and relieved himself on the way back to the bus and was seen by policemen. The sex offender registry, if it is to be effective, needs to be pared down to: Rape, molestation, sexual battery. The other people on the registry pose almost no danger to the public and are a waste of resources to track and dilute the effectiveness of the system.

It also pisses me off. Someone can do drugs and go to jail for 30 years. You can rape someone and your back out in two years. I dont like drugs and wish the would be off the streets. How dare you let someone out who rapes someone….........  thats whats wrong with the world today..There shouldnt be a second chance when you hurt someone like that…

You can forgive but not forget.  I think anyone who is sick enough to rape, kill and cut up someone should pay the price. That type of person cant be changed. I have had three men hurt me when I was younger. Im 25 with two kids. Im also married. I dont have a good sex life and I dont let people get close to my kids. Im scared for my kids. I will always remember the sick ppl who hurt me. God doesnt like ugly and will take care of it ...the way it should be…..

Throw them behind bars and never let them back out.I think they should be treated like people that committ murder!!!If they did it one time they would do it again,again and again just cause they where set free.

I think that everyone should be forgiven once, but if you do it over and over again you need to be put away for life. And ladies they are not just messing with girls keep an eye on your boys as well. Everything that looks good to you is not good for you. Search the web and find out for yourself before you get involved with someone.

are we talking about.the ones we see on postboards, or the ones who been tested postive
for hiv-aids and are free to walk the streets,work in resturants,better yet just go around

i think sex offenders should be in jail because it is so sad what they do to the kids.Some say they might like what the people do.I am 11 and hope most or all get colt.

i think sex offenders shouldbe put in jail because its wrong what they do to children people think they are doing the right thing. to me they are just hurting theirself. they need to just step up and be the man or woman they are suppose to be not harm little kids i am12 years old i wanted to speak my mind cause on the news i see all these little kids getting raped and killed for no reason so i just wanted to share my thoughts and i hope everyone have a blessed life

I think that this would only show the offenders that has been caught but I know that there are plenty of sex offenderd in mississippi I’m 18 and I have had boys to lie to me and tell me that they were younger than they really are I stand behind this 100% but I just want everyone to be aware of those who are not in the system.

I for one think it is plain nasty and wrong to touch or do anything to a person against their will espacially children. I mean what can they do for you. If a grown person doesn’t want you then be alone, you don’t have to be touching and rubbing on the innocent.

I think it is a disgrace for men/women to commit a sexual act against someone who is not willing. There are to many people in this world that is willing. And for child molestors, they need to be strung up and tortured, IT IS SICK. It is something they will never get over.

yes i think sex offened should be,the bible said eye for eye that what’t want with the world now that; the season our jails are full people kill rape childens,old people, they go to jail they get thier clothes food dont have to work some have it better that we do we word for our food and worry about our family while we way.if punished was worster it might stop some of for instantance just like those two womens that stard that little boy that should put them in room no food and water for afews month and let them feel how that little boy did if they didnt want him they could gave back to his mother or some else that alot people wanted childen that cant have them their no exsured for that they stay in jail for while and get out and do it again most the time
