On another site someone indicated that the trial is to start in September, 2009.  I am hopeful that there will be an abundance of evidence leading to a murder conviction and that all of the trial delays will prevent procedural loopholes that could facilitate an appeal of the conviction.

Can anyone tell me what is the delay with her going to trial?

I think that Ms.Hughes should stop protecting Mr. Pittman or whoever helped her.  Protecting someone will not help her get out of the situation she is in.  And if he is the one who helped her he can rest assure that his judgement day is coming by someone higher than the judicial system.

Mz business how do you figure that it was a struggle with the victim? what would make you say or think that? Do you know anything about any of these people cause if you do please feel free to share some light for the family…....

I THINK THAT THE GIRL DIDNT DO IT BY HERSELF THE EXBOYFRIEND GOT SUMTHING TO DO WITH IT TO. THERE WAS A STRUGGLE BEFOR AVIS BANKS WERE KILLED I THINK.THE EX SHOULD BE IN COURT ALSO CAUSE THERE WAS A STRUGGLE.

I THOUGHJT IT WAS BAD BECAUSE SHE DIDN’T DO IT BY HERSELF SHE HAD TO HAVE SOMEHELP AND HER HUSBAND MAY HAVE BEEN THE ONE WHO HELP HER.

This is for Teri from Jackson, MS.  We didn’t have to see her do it because if she didn’t do it she wouldn’t have been sitting in jail for two years WITHOUT bond.  Sometimes we must use common sense.

you can’t always say that a person did something if you didn’t see it out of your own eye’s they need to stop listening to people who alway’s say he say she say.

My heart goes out to the Banks family. I can imagine how the Banks are feeling for the lost of there beautiful daughter in unborn grandchild,to have life taking away from you,because of this man Pittman in Carla Hughes,This young woman would still be alive today in her unborn child,if only Pittman would have not be having - affair with Carla Hughes,and has for Carla Hughes, your anger should have been towards Pittman,your day is coming for the heinous crime you’ve done Carla Hughes-  I hope that all 12 jury have no mercy on you,come judgment day in court.

Hughes looked very good in her new attire it should’ve been red"devil” not orange and her precious jewelry,real tears are not forced out so stop faking,get that stupid look off your face or is natural?

I THINK THAT IF MS HUGHES COMMITTED THE CRIME MR PITTMAN HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT. I FEEL HE SHOULD BE ON TRIAL WITH MS HUGHES.

I’ve read some of the prior comments, and some stated that they don’t believe that Miss Hughes did it, but the facts have the loudest voice in this matter, and the facts are:  1.  Mr. Pittman admitted that he and Miss Hughes had a huge argument about 2 weeks before Miss Banks was murdered, AFTER he supposidly told her that he was NOT going to leave Avis.  2.  Miss Hughes borrowed not only a knife, but also a gun from her cousin.  3.  Miss Banks ends up not only shot, but stabbed.  I know that Miss Hughes will have her day in court, but it’s amazing that she has any supporters when there’s even a remote possibility that she could have committed this inhumane act.  The reason that this crime is so unnerving is because whoever commited this crime has no compassion or feeling for human life, and whoever that is does not need to be amongst society or human existance.

ireally feel sorry for ms hughes, she is losted and doesn’t realize it.  I feel death is not what she needs. this lady needs to be reminded everyday that she took two lives over a man and giving her the chair is an away out.

Huges didn,t act along Pittmsn was involved somehow if not actually committing the crime himeself. Huges need too speak up if she didn’t act balong.
